TornadoSpy Frequently Asked Questions
What is the reliability setting all about?
The reliability setting is used to filter out less reliable sightings that are reported by users who have reported false tornadoes in the past. Setting the reliability slider completely to the right will only give you the most reliable NOAA sightings. Setting it to the left will give you all of the sightings including sightings that are most likely false. Setting it to 25% of the way is probably a good compromise between reliable sightings and fast sighting reports.
NOAA sightings are very reliable but are typically slow, user sightings tend to be less reliable but can be sent to you in seconds.
How do I set the reliability used to send email alerts to me?
Go to the settings page and adjust the reliability slider to your desired setting and touch 'save'.
How do I set the location for which I receive email alerts?
TornadoSpy uses the location that was used when you last viewed the track tornadoes screen and touched the refresh button. This makes it easy to stay informed of the current tornado hot spots.
